USS Carney Arrives in Haifa, Israel

HAIFA, Israel – USS Carney (DDG 64) arrived in Haifa, Israel for a scheduled port visit, Feb. 21, 2016.

While in port, Carney’s crew will engage with their Israeli counterparts in an effort to enhance U.S.-Israeli relations as the two nations work together for a stable, secure and prosperous region.

  • The U.S. Navy routinely visits Haifa; USS Porter (DDG 78) conducted a port visit in July 2015 and again in August 2015, while USS Laboon (DDG 58) and USS Ross (DDG 71) conducted a port visit in March 2015.
  • This port visit provides Carney Sailors with the opportunity to meet the people of Israel and experience the rich history and culture of the country. Carney is expected to conduct officer exchange tours with Israeli ships in port.
